Informations about Hong Kong

This time I'll write about the must- know things before you come to Hong Kong.

1.Areas:
Hong Kong has 3 main areas: New Territories (including  islands), Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Peninsula. It is separated by 18 districts:

 Hong Kong Island:
Central and Western, Eastern, Southern, Wan Chai

 Kowloon: 
Sham Shui Po, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, 
Yao Sim Wong 

 New Territories:
Islands, Kwai Tsing, North, Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Tai Po, Tsuen Wan, Tun Mun, Yun Long

Altogether, Hong Kong is about 1104 km square and there are about 7 million people.

2.  Weather

In summer, it is usually hot and humid. There are lots of rain and some typhoons every year.

In winter, it is cold and dry, but it never snows.

 Electricity
The plugs in Hong Kong are 220W 3 pin plugs



Octopus Card
The Octopus card is like a 
Hong Kong version Metro Card. You can use it for all public transport (except taxi) and lots of shops and restaurant. Very convenient. You can get it from all MTR station service counters.

The exchange rate is 1 USD to 7.7547 HKD
There are lots of exchange shop all over Hong Kong. So you don't need to worry.
